A 110 ton step forward
We at KÖCO are currently relocating an important part of our welding stud production from Ennepetal to Zacler, Czech Republic. The first press, which previously produced welding studs at our plant in Ennepetal, has now found its new home in Zacler. An extensive test run of the system will take place there over the next few weeks.
In order to safely transport the press to Zacler, which weighs over 110 tons, a complex transportation process was organized that included both roads and waterways. First, the heavy transport was carried out by truck from our location in Ennepetal. The machine was then loaded onto a cargo ship and transported by water to Nürnberg. The press then continued its journey on the road until it finally arrived safely at its new home in Zacler.
Moving a machine of this size and complexity across roads and waterways poses a logistical obstacle and demonstrates the commitment of our entire team, which supports this significant transformation and makes it possible in the first place.
Outlook
A comprehensive test run in Zacler is scheduled for the next weeks in order to guarantee the smooth operation of the plant and the production quality that meets KÖCO's high standards. In January 2025, regular bolt production is expected to begin. Until that time, production will continue on the remaining presses in Ennepetal to guarantee delivery readiness at all times.
We are proud of the project's progress to date and would like to take this opportunity to thank our team at both locations, who have made this logistical tour de force possible. Without the commitment and expertise of our employees, a relocation of this magnitude would not have been possible.
We're excited to improve our procedures at the new facility in Zacler and are looking forward to the official start of production at the beginning of 2025.
Do you have any questions about the project? We look forward to hearing from you!
